Welcome to our website the Door Supervisor Union (DSU). A trade union designed and dedicated for individuals employed in the security related industry, this could mean whether working full time or part time.
The security industry covers a range of roles and positions:
- Door supervisor/security
- Close protection
- Security guards
- Event safety steward
- CCTV/ CVIT/ VI operators
- Private investigators
There has been significant changes over the last few years with more and more regulations being enforced, which has in turn helped develop highly trained individuals and employees.
The DSU is here to support and organise members, which promotes the valuable and professional work our members achieve. DSU activists are the key to an effective organising strategy, which will help us create links with other organisations to ensure better training facilities and courses, equipment and working conditions.
We are committed to developing activists within the workplace who can:
- Encourage members to discuss issues and coordinate collective success.
- Take up issues within the workplace and represent members effectively
- Provide the union with a strong presence in the workplace
DSU offers protection at work and endeavours to solve problems for our members. DSU provides back up, representation and advice on issues related to the members life at work, solving members' problems and providing expert guidance on a range of issues including:
- hours of work
- pay
- work life balance
- health & safety
- legal advice
- how to deal with bullying and harassment
- equality at work
- disciplinary and grievance matters
